Hangtime Hostel is more than just a place to stay — it’s a vibrant coastal hub where surf, yoga, food, and real connection come together. Built by three passionate travelers, Niall, Nik, and Maggi, Hangtime was born out of a love for Sri Lanka’s warm people and raw beauty — and a vision to create something more than a guesthouse.

Located steps from the waves of Weligama, it’s where travellers can slow down, share stories, and live with intention. From our rooftop yoga and surf-friendly beach to boat-bed rooms and open-air café, Hangtime reflects the spirit of the island — with handmade touches, natural vibes, and soul-soothing adventures.

 Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Delicious Food and great View. We went here our experience  was totally amazing, friendly staff aways smiling and warm welcome.  Restaurant  Food was excellent  tasty  and good selection for breakfast and dinner. Yes it needs some upgrading but it was clean. I spoke to the local manager, he is really friendly guy and they are doing some refurbishment. We will definitely  come back.

 Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Super Hostel direkt am Strand. Du stehst auf, gehst über die Straße und kannst mit dem Surfen beginnen. Ich war zwei Mal in dem Hostel weil es mir so gut gefallen hat. Man lernt sehr schnell andere Backpacker im Zimmer kennen. Die Zimmer sind groß und man hat ein Badezimmer pro Zimmer. Die Matratzen sind leider etwas dünn, und das Bett hart. Es gibt WhatsApp Gruppenchats und Sociale Activitäten. Kein Partyhostel. Im Hostel selbst ist es leise.

It's on the opposite side of the street which has all the surf shops. You can rent boards for surfing and take a class. The hostel itself is very nice except for the price of the restaurant that is a bit expensive. But otherwise, top place 😊
